PRIEST SAYS HE DIDN'T SPY ON POPE
A Polish priest, accused of spying on Pope John Paul II, says he took the money but never actually did the deed. However, the Polish National Remembrance Institute claims that there is evidence that Father Konrad Hejmo was given money by the Polish SB security service and became a conscious informer. During the 1980's, the SB tried to infiltrate the Church due to its stance against communism in Poland. A thorough investigation has been demanded by the Polish Catholic Church.
