USA BACKS RUSSIAN FLYING SAUCER DEVELOPMENT

The Russian aviation concern EKIP has signed an agreement with the US Naval Air Systems Command to design and build an aircraft in the shape of a disk. The project initially began in 1992, but ran into a snag when the Russian government pulled out its backing.

Now things are back on track, with test flights slated for 2007, and wholesale manufacture in 2012. China has also expressed interest in the EKIP project.
