A good number of scientists have already suggested that the strange light in the sky seen from Maine to Long Island this past April was probably not part of the Lyrid meteor shower. On April 24, 2005 people began phoning police departments to report everything from a plane crashing to UFOs in the sky, and operators quickly found an answer in Lyrid.
