FIRST DOG SUCCESSFULLY CLONED
After many failures, a living dog clone was finally created by South Korean scientists on April 24, 2005. The Afghan puppy, named Snuppy (Seoul National University puppy), is a major advance in the science of cloning, as dogs are considered among the most difficult animals to clone. A major issue is predicting when a female dog is fertile, which is very different from every other mammal. Several previous multi-million dollar attempts all failed.

The scientists behind the project claim they are not interested in creating genetically altared dog breeds, nor do they want to go into the business of cloning pets. However, the success brought up the next major milestone to be achieved: human cloning. Several scientists spoke adamently about the need for a world wide ban.

COMMENTS

As much as I am against human cloning as well, humans will always try to accomplish what they don't know the consequences of.

No matter how much anyone is for it or against it, it's going to happen.
