On February 1, 1921, a schooner was found stuck in the sand shoals off of Cape Hatteras by the coast guard. The ship's sails were set and a full meal was found in the galley - yet there wasn't a single person found on board.
The Ghost Ship of Diamond Shoals, a book by Bland Simpson about the mystery, was recently selected in North Carolina as the main book in a community-wide book reading.
