EARTHQUAKE REPORTED BUT NOT DETECTED

Since Thursday morning, hundreds of Maineites have been reporting what they describe as earthquake tremors that occurred in the Skowhegan area. Strangely, seismographs in Maine and New England did not record any strange activity whatsoever. Sonic booms from jets has been ruled out. What it was remains a mystery, and the calls are still coming in. "My dogs went berserk," said one resident. "I've experienced an earthquake before, and this was an earthquake."
