In a disappointing twist to the Malaysian Bigfoot hunt, foreigners could find themselves fined or jailed for up to three years for trespassing in the jungles of Johor without a permit. Apparently, state authorities have become concerned that the first Bigfoot discovery will be made by a tourist. A new hunting permit has been created and costs only $1, but it seems it will only be offered to Malaysian residents.
Also, I got a letter from Joshua Gates of Destination: Truth, who did not address the annoying habit the Sci-Fi Channel has of giving its investigative shows really boring or lame names, but did update us on his expedition:
Nick,
Joshua Gates here from Sci-Fi's Destination: Truth. Typing to you from Bangkok where my team and I have relocated to after a press conference in Kuala Lumpur. My team and I discovered the print after a week of searching in the jungles around Endo Rompin and Kota Tinggi. It is unmistakably a massive footprint and the broken branches and other tracks in the area are extremely interesting from a research point of view. The Malaysian government has taken possession of the casting we made of the footprint and are conducting tests on it now.
Hope all is well.
Cheers,
J
Wonder if Sci-Fi's going to spring for that permit.
