| PART 2 OF MYSTERY SHIP SAGA ONLINE |
Last week, we reported that the Chapel Hill Herald was printing a four part story on the mystery of the Carroll Denning, a schooner found off Cape Hatteras with not a single person on board. Part 2 is now up, and the mystery deepens:
There on the dinner table [in the galley] was a complete meal set out to be eaten. Each of the plates had been served, and there was food also in the serving dishes in the middle of the table. From all appearances not one mouthful had been consumed from the plates, but there was no disarray, nothing spilled. In the galley there was more food in the cooking utensils on the stove. The pots were cold, and the galley fire had gone out, but there the food was, ready to be served. ...
The only living thing found on board was a gray cat, which earned the name Carroll.
