It's a slow news day, so I thought I'd bring up the latest web-based paranormal craze that has the possibility of rising to John Titor ranks (John Titor is the supposed time traveler who left various posts on the internet about the future - watch out for the next American civil war, which should have happened in 2004; also, the 2004 Olympics were the last to ever occur...oh wait...).
Anyway, it appears that someone from the US Defense Intelligence Agency has anonymously been posting information about an alleged government project that began with the Roswell crash of 1947. Or, crashes, if you follow the Project Serpo story closely. There were apparently two crashes in July, which left a single alien pilot alive and kicking. Though it later died in 1952, the alien described how to make contact with its home in the Zeta Reticuli system, and contact was indeed made in 1964. Following that, 10 men and 2 women were selected for an exchange program for a period of 10 years ending in 1978. A single alien entity came to Earth. Strangely, only 8 humans returned - 2 died on the alien world, while 2 chose to remain.
Anyway, that's the jist of it - there's a plethora of information on the site if you'd like to know more about the alien race, their customs, their food (which apparently gave the human visitors intense gastrointestinal problems), etc. Its quite clear that someone is most likely pulling all this out of their ass with amazing ease, and I'm also sure there are already hundreds of nutballs defending this with the vigor that Titor received. Meanwhile, these guys are busy trying to prove it a hoax, which the possibility of a video game being a leading contender (I Love Bees!). So I hate to promote it at all.
But like I said, it's a slow news day.
