The main question I have after reading this article on alleged exorcist Bob Larson and perusing his website is: why do spiritualists have the tackiest churches?
But back to the article, I guess. Rev. Bob Larson claims to have performed over 6,000 exorcisms over the past 20 years in over 90 countries. He learned his techniques from the Vatican, as the Roman Catholic Church is the only sect of Christianity that acknowledges the possibility of demonic possession. He says that along the way, he has been kicked, scratched, bitten, had ribs broken, and received death threats.
In totally, completely and utterly unrelated news, San Francisco police are currently looking for a spiritual healer who supposedly scammed Bay Area residents out of at least $1 Million. The man, who goes by the name Iqbal, has since disappeared. Iqbal promised his followers such rewards as winning lottery numbers and cures for their pains, at charges ranging from $10,000 to $200,000. "I don't know what he did to my brain," one of Iqbal's victims told Knight Ridder. "He made me so stupid. I gave him the cash. He has some kind of magic power."
