Not sure if any of you watched the Olympics on Sunday, or saw the front page of the NY Times on Monday, but I was amazed at all the falls. It seemed like just about every couple had a major spill on the ice at one point or another, and that's apparently keeping with the theme of this year's Olympics. First Michelle Kwan bows out, then there were the luge wipeouts, the skier crash, etc., etc.
Coincidence or something more? Apparently, some believe that Torino is a city is split between the forces of good and evil. A triangle of black magic is said to connect between Torino, Prague and Lyon, France, while a triangle of white magic connects between Torino, San Francisco, and London. The opposing magicks allegedly have their hearts in two locations - the black magic side is centered around the Piazza Statuto, while the white magic side has its source near the Piazza Castello, where the Shroud of Torino is stored.
At least, according to Magic Turin, a tour around the city highlighting such occult elements as Freemason symbolism and the possible location of the Holy Grail. A Haverford professor who teaches a course on the occult claims this is all a present-day creation.
