A wealthy British farmer was on his way to pick up his child from his ex-wife in northern Thailand when he was ambushed by her family. They tried to shoot him with a shotgun, and when that failed, beat him to death. They proceeded to chop him up and barbecue his remains over coals, which they distributed throughout a Thai national park - an area where tigers openly roam.

The possible psychic link? Shortly before his murder, the man won a writing contest for a short story about a British man who falls for a Thai woman, only to divorce her when she racks up excessive gambling debts (mirroring his own break-up). The man is then murdered by one of her new lovers.
