MUSEUM BRINGS IN BELIEVERS, SKEPTICS FOR GHOST SHIP
Some believe that the Charles W. Morgan, an old whaling ship docked at the Mystic Seaport historical museum, is haunted. Visitors recently saw a man dressed in 19th century clothing working below deck; the man ignored their calls and later could not be found by museum staff. The Rhode Island Paranormal Research Group went in last April and, after their investigation, said there was evidence of a haunting. Since then, the ship has been featured on numerous television shows, including Good Morning America, and a large portion of arriving tourists are specifically there to see "the ghost ship." Now the museum is bringing in noted debunker Michael Shermer, author of "Why People Believe Weird Things" to speak, just as the RI Paranormal group prepares to release their findings.
