2003 UB313, the object that bumped Pluto off the planets list, has now been given a name: Eris, from the Greek goddess who caused strife among the gods which eventually led to the Trojan War. A fitting name, as this newly-termed "dwarf planet" caused an uproar in the scientific community when it was discovered to be larger than Pluto and thus demanded the exclusion or inclusion of both from the planetary list.
