Police in southern Greece have recovered a religious icon said to have healing powers and the ability to perform miracles. The object, a 700 year old Virgin Mary, was stolen on August 18 from a cliff-top convent near the town of Leonidio. After a five week investigation, the police announced the arrest of a Romanian man in Athens. It is believed that the robbers entered the convent with visitors, hid there until it closed, then stole the icon and descended the cliff face using ropes.
