Record producer Jacques Morel was driving through the Alma tunnel at the same time Princess Diana was killed and claims to have seen a dozen figures, including photographers, lurking in the shadows. He believes they were "expecting" to see the car brought to a halt, in a stunt that went fatally wrong. Says Morel: "As we entered the Alma tunnel I saw to my left a dozen shady figures on a tiny pavement by the side of the opposite carriageway. They were standing in a long line. The sight was unforgettable. The pavement is narrow and next to fast-moving traffic. It was certainly not a sensible place to stand around." Morel also says he saw the mysterious white Fiat Uno drive away, which is believed to have belonged to paparazzi informer John Adanson (Adanson committed suicide three years later).
Morel is convinced that higher authorities are trying to silence him, and has since moved from Paris to Tunisia in hopes of safety. He plans to publish his theories in a book entitled "The Witness," making us all a little suspicious of this publicity. British detectives are expected to release a final report on the fatal car crash later this year.
